Supersport United ended with a 2-2 draw after an encounter with Black Leopards during Absa Premiership game on Friday evening. Leopards struck late in the second half, earning a draw. Siyabonga Nhlapo and Jamie Webber returned to the starting eleven for SuperSport straight from the Telkom Knockout win over Baroka FC. Leopards had luck with their new signings, Edwin Gyimah and Thobani Mncwango who both made their debuts during the game.
Matsatsantsa got their first view of the goal 16 minutes into the game but it was gone quickly. Aubrey Modiba failed to bother Jonas Mendes who pushed off his looping free-kick. Onismor Bhasera brought a great delivery from the left side after 33 minutes which found Modiba. Modiba then applied a simple tap-in from the well-constructed move to give advantage to the home side.
SuperSport and Leopards had a fair game
Four minutes into the halftime, the visitors level. Chris Katjiuka nodded home from a corner into the danger area which pulled visitors out of the shadow. SuperSport gave all they had during the start of the second half, pinning Leopards into their own half with countless balls through to the final entry of the field.
Sipho Mbule went in the game and ran out for Teboho Mokoena at 58 minutes. Kaitano Tembo rushed on the front foot. The move paid off already three minutes later as Mbule combined with Webber to set-up Thamsanqa Gabuza for an easy slide trough Mendes.
With first-half coming to an end, visitors nearly replied but Lesedi Kapinga fired over the top next to a starring Ronwen Williams in the opposing goal 67 minutes into the game. Lidoda Dubha pushed for the equalizer in the final minutes. They got awarded at the death when Pentjie Zulu fired home from the penalty spot after a foul in the area.
The hosts were very close to stealing the winner seconds later but had no choice but to settle for a share of the spoils, in the end, missing their chance to go forth.
