SuperSport United did not give the best of themselves in Absa Premiership. They lost the away match against Polokwane City on the weekend. The match was played on Saturday afternoon, at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane. The final score was 3-1 to the home side. Matsatsantsa got a consolation goal from Aubrey Modiba’s spot-kick in the last minutes of the second half to make the score 2-1.
SuperSport did not manage to get out of the situation but instead earned one more goal which completely ruined their chances. In PSL log you can see that they dropped down on 7th place, with 8 points.
United’s celebration did not live long as they were forcing to level matters when the opposing side netter their third goal in stoppage time. They lost their first league game against city rivals Mamelodi Sundowns in the opening match of this season in Tshwane in August.
Matsatsantsa is expecting the next match at home, against AmaZulu, this Saturday in Atteridgeville. The line-up against Polokwane City will be consisted of following players; Khumalo Bongani, Bhasera Onismor, Furman Dean, Williams Ronwen, Nhlapo Siyabonga, Daniels Clayton, Rusike Evans, Mahachi Kudakwashe (Gabuza Thamsanqa 46′), Mokoena Teboho, Mbule Sipho, (Webber Jamie 36′ Grobler Bradley 71′).
SuperSport United in the previous season
In the previous season, SuperSport ended in the 6th place, right after Polokwane City. They ended their every season just behind the biggest faces of Absa Premiership so they are only shades away from being on top.
Their next game will be against AmaZulu this Saturday evening. After that, they will face Bloemfontein Celtic and then, Black Leopards. The final results are still far away so maybe United surprises their fans by going up the list. You can check the full history of the team and the latest news on Soccer 10.
