Supersport United goalkeeper, Ronwen Williams is believed to be close to signing another long-term deal at the club. The Matsatsantsa shot-stopper has picked up the Goalkeeper of the Season in the last season of Premier Soccer League awards ceremony. Since then, he remained an integral part of the SuperSport setup as he was in the club since the age of 12.
The 27-year old’s current deal is believed to already be a long-term one. Despite that, SuperSport wants to reward the player for his hard work and dedication over the years. Ronwen’s representative, Lance Davids from On Target, has confirmed the news as well. Soccer 10 is bringing you the latest news about the subject. Ronwen Williams rewarded for his loyalty
“We have been looking to sign a new long term deal with SuperSport United. We are currently in talks with the club but we are confident that it will soon get finalized.” ; Ronwen said. Lance Davids continued; “It is an incredible relationship if we consider how the modern game has been changed. It is really rare to find one-club players today. He has shown loyalty to the club and club wants to return the favour, be good to him. It is a good relationship.”
“There has been interesting in the player in past, but that is normal. All top players are wanted elsewhere. That’s how the game works. But Ronwen has never thought of moving to any other club in South Africa. He is fully committed to the club and the new deal we are negotiating is a testament to that commitment. However, we are just waiting on the CEO, Stan Matthews to revert back to us and conclude negotiations,” Lance Davids added.
