Real Madrid loss against PSG – UEFA

Real Madrid travelled to Paris to face PSG, ending with a shock after loss. In second part of Matchday One of the UEFA Champions League, some thrillers have been thrown as four biggest clubs of Europe collided.

Paris Saint Germain and Manchester City had success where their rivals failed in the opening of Champions League games. Paris Saint Germain played withouth their star forward, Neymar but still managed to ease a 3-0 win on Wednesday. The 13-time European Champions, Real Madrid, were left in shock.

In 89th minute, PSG swapped an attacker for a defender. Abdou Diallo came on instead Pablo Sarabia. Real Madrid have done very little to fight back in the second half while Eden Hazard looked out of pace. Real has finally come to life in 79th minute but that didn’t save the game.

Madrid missed their suspended defender Sergio Ramos, which could be main problem for their poor performance. The French champion missed their forward but had different strategy, relying on Angel Di Maria, the former Madrid winger. He scored twice with smart, first-half shots that quickly settled the outcome.

Real Madrid without any points

Manchester City had a ruthless attack as well, winning 3-0 against Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine. Champions League powers struggled this week as two wealthy clubs with burning ambition to get a first European title. From nine clubs that played in the finals since 2011, only Bayern Munich won this week, with the same result of 3-0 against a Red Star Belgrade who only managed to get trough qualifying rounds.

Juventus and Tottenham both have let two-goal leads slip away from them at home, before 2-2 tie with Atletico Madrid and Olympiakos. At the Parc des Princes, the biggest stars were watching from expensive seats in the stands.

Paris Saint Germain is on top of the Group A with 3 points, while Real Madrid is last without any points. Bayern is in the lead of Group B, while Dinamo zagreb is on top of the group C. It is still early in the game so clubs have a long way to go before the finals. Real still has the time to work on their strategy to improve their performance.
