Nkosingiphile Ngcobo is getting back to Kaizer Chiefs team

Nkosingiphile Ngcobo is getting closer to his return to Kaizer Chiefs. Considering that this weekend is the Telkom Knockout semi-final, this will be a good boost for Chiefs. Ngcobo was recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon, which he sustained in March after only first two games played. Now, he is finally ready to get back on the field.

Ngcobo made his debut for The Glamour Boys while coming on to help his side at half-time in victory over Maritzburg United. He earned his first start in the following game against SuperSport United. With 76 minutes in the game, he sustained injuries which forced him to leave the field. Coach Ernst Middendorp was thrilled to hear the news about the Amajita star’s return.

Nkosingiphile was named in the last year’s Africa U-20 Cup of Nations Best XI in Niger before he missed the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland in May. “This is fantastic, outstanding quality and talent. It is really something that I believe if we had started in the first team, at the beginning of the 2018/2019 season, consistently working with the squad, where he could get now.” – Ernst Middendorp said.

The German coach relished the Kaizer Chiefs youth graduate’s return was expected in September. Unfortunately, it was delayed since then but the good news is that Ngcobo is getting closer to full return. He will return to the senior team after enjoying 90 minutes for the reserve team on Saturday. The diminutive attacker worked his way back slowly under coach Arthur Zwane during Multichoice Diski Challenge. He finally managed to pull off a steady, full game at high intensity in the Soweto Derby defeat to Orlando Pirates at Dobsonville Stadium. Coach Ernst Middendorp was monitoring the performance.
