Kaizer Chiefs status

The German tactician also stated that their status is not yet being out of „ICU”. He said he borrowed the term from a message that was shared by Kaizer Motaung at the end of the last season. “I face the facts, I face reality, the good stuff is during the week I had a very comfortable discussion when I said, ‘Let’s not believe that starting this season [everything is smooth sailing],” – Ernst stated after their defeat on Saturday.

Middendorp explained further that there is a lot of different dynamic or ideas which can change the course of the game. They can’t let themselves believe that they will be out of ICU after just four games played. It was also the word of their chairman Motaung in May and June. Last week, Middendorp stated that for some players that they had good times in their appearances but never did the whole game right. Players like Manyama Lebogang, Frosler Reeve and Erick Mathoho had good 45 minutes in one game, 60 minutes in other but never complete 90 minutes.

Coach Midendorp added; “I know with the new players coming in the beginning, they get known and opponents start looking into it, so for me, it’s not a situation to get carried away in just because you have a certain number of points and a position after four games.”
