Khama Billiat, their star attacker is almost finished with his recovery. He will be back on training with the Glamour Boys shortly. Chiefs confirmed that Khama is getting back to the training after few weeks on the sideline.
Zimbabwean international didn’t show up on the field since the team’s 1-1 draw with Maritzburg United in December. Now, he is finally ready to get back on training and he could be available for the game on February 15, when Amakhosi take on the Royal Eagles in the Nedbank Cup.
Khama Billiat soon on training
Kaizer Chiefs will now have a big boost in the Absa Premiership race for the title. During this season, Khama suffered a serious injury but Chiefs still managed to climb up the table. Without their key players, Ernst Middendorp still managed to make a new setting and keep making their way to the top.
Billiat was only in 10 out of their 19 league games and netted only one goal. Now, with the official end of the 2019/20 season coming closer, the club got a wonderful update about the players’ situation.
The 29-year-old player is now fully recovered. He will be fit to face the Royal Eagles in the Nedbank Cup. In just a few days, Khama Billiat will get to his regular training. They also had a new signing at the training today.
Despite a strap over the knee, Anthony Akumu didn’t miss out. Akumu will probably face Eagles in the Nedbank campaign next month if he will be fit to do so. Billiat’s return came many days after coach Middendorp said that he doesn’t want to rush his recovery. He already missed the last five matches and the team won three games during his absence, had one draw and one loss.
Unfortunately, Khama was able to contribute with a single goal this season but he will soon be back on track – and in his old form as well. Kaizer Chiefs are currently sitting in the top position of the PSL results south africa. They collected 45 points from the 19 league games.
