Coach Norman Mapeza explained why he left Chippa United

Coach Norman Mapeza surprised many by leaving the club early this month. The former Chippa United coach surprised local football clubs when he left. It happened after five months as a coach of the Chilli Boys. Mapeza returned to his native Zimbabwe.

He stated that he didn’t resent the former club or the players he had coached for some time. Norman is ready to return to the PSL League if he receives an offer. At any time, he is ready to help one of the clubs have even better results for psl. He will always be grateful to the club for allowing him to coach the players and try to get them the best position on the PSL tables.

The famous trainer is currently resting at home, but he wouldn’t mind returning to South Africa. The last five months at the Absa Premiership have been a great experience for him and he would like to continue where he left off. Ever since Mapeza left the Chippa United leadership team, the club decided to appoint Rhulani Mokwena until the end of the season. Rhulani previously coached the Orlando Pirates.

Coach Norman Mapeza and Chippa United

Norman Mapeza

The former Orlando Pirates coach took over the Chippa team after Clinton Larson was fired. Joel Masutha coached the club before Larson. These two coaches are just a part of all that Chippa hired during the 2018/2019 season. Neither of them lingered for long.

The United team started the previous campaign with Dean Malesela. But the former player remained short after suffering two defeats in three games. The only one who coached longer was Eric Tinkler. He led the team through ten games.

If you compare Mapeza to other coaches, he is considered to be one of the most successful Chippa squad coaches. The best proof is that he saved them from relegation. All eight wins were during his tenure. The Chippa team is currently ranked 12th on the PSL table.

Once the coronavirus crisis is over, it will be clear whether the new coach will continue to where Mapeza left off. It will then be known whether the new coach will help his club achieve one of the better results of the season. Or the departure of Mapeza will harm their supabets odds.
