Chiefs will face former manager Steve Komphela

Kaizer Chiefs were hosted by their former manager, Steve Komphela at the scene of his final match in charge. Now, we wait for Chiefs to enter the battle against Golden Arrows at the Moses Modiba Stadium. Komphela doesn’t have such great memories about this venue who had to resign after the fan violence at the stadium.

After Chiefs lost their Nedbank Cup semi-final 2-0 to the Free State Stars, protesters started to get out of control. Komphela’s career had its ups and downs but he managed to recover it. He had a huge role in the Bloemfontein Celtic’s top eight finish during the last season. Now, he is on course to lead the Abafana Bes’thende to the MTN( competition this year.

Steve Komphela changed the focus

Golden Arrows ended with a 1-1 draw to Polokwane City during their last game and letting the lead to slip. Mohammed Anas managed to draw in the 70th minute. Knox Mutizwa has opened the scoring in the eight. “Everything that we had been chasing against Polokwane was to make the 26 points. Then, you get four and you are out of the trouble. When you do that, you can start working towards 40 and the top eight.” – Komphela added.

He said that they need two more matches to win and then they will have guaranteed safety. His priorities are clearly much different than those of Kaizer Chiefs. Chiefs are currently on their way to snatch the league title. Komphela was unable to deliver and sadly, it cost him his job.

Last season was the Chiefs first game after they let him go and they had it worse than under him. However, in 2019/2020, Ernst Middendorp came with his tactical skills and restored their old powers.

At this point, Chiefs are in front of Mamelodi Sundowns, leading them by seven points. They have a big opportunity to extend their power as Sundowns are focused on their CAF Champions League commitments.

But now, we all wait for the Kaizer Chiefs to attack the Arrows on 25th January at 15:30. You can watch the game at Moses Modiba Stadium and bet live at the same time with betway mobile page. The Amakhosi win is the most likely prediction as Arrows aren’t in such a brilliant form lately.
